As an advanced nursing practice program, this course is directed towards a high degree of expertise as a nurse and requires greater levels of responsibility. It inculcates leadership in the provision of responsive nursing care for individuals and families in general and specialised care. Students will gain an increased understanding of the value of research and evidence-based practice.

Nested Course Structure

If you choose to exit midway through the course, you may graduate with a Graduate Certificate in Nursing, consisting of four units of study over one study period full time (or, for non CRICOS students, two study periods part time).

Note that those students who have already completed a Graduate Certificate in Nursing may be eligible for advanced standing, subject to credit transfer and recognition of prior learning procedures.

The course will be offered as an online course.

This major is designed for nurses in leadership positions or those who wish to take up leadership roles in the future.

Applicants will need to have a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent and be a registered nurse. English language proficiency must be demonstrated either through the writing of a short essay or by supplying evidence of formal English language testing credentials. Applications will be accessed on a case by case basis by the course coordinator in accordance with the Student Selection and Admission Policy and Procedures for Course delivered to Overseas Students.
